
Intercultural Twinning
CARI's intercultural twinning program creates a social and linguistic bridge between new immigrants and Quebecers.
Each match is a unique opportunity to discover Quebec culture, practice French and build lasting friendships.
Meetings are flexible: cultural outings, shared meals, sports activities, neighbourhood discovery and more.
The next pairing cohort will take place in fall 2026**:**
1- Tuesday, September 29, 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
2- Thursday, October 1, 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
3- Tuesday, October 6, 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
4- Tuesday, October 13, 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
PROCESS
Individual meeting with the intercultural pairing coordinator Group meetings where participants get to know each other and develop their intercultural skills: one per week, in the evening Pairing based on affinity at the end of the meetings Pairs organize their own meetings and activities independently over a 6-month period The coordinator provides individualized and group follow-up of pairings over a 6-month period
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN INTERCULTURAL PAIRING?
Individuals who are available, eager to make new enriching connections, ready to share their culture and discover another culture. Participants must live in greater Montréal and be willing to travel to Montréal for meetings. Immigrant participants: Individuals with Canadian citizenship, permanent residence or a temporary residence permit (international students, temporary workers), and individuals with refugee status. Host society participants: Individuals born in Quebec or well-established in Quebec for many years
